Project Details
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) is conducting an Alternative Corridor Evaluation (ACE) Study for Central Polk Parkway East (CPPE) from SR 60 to US 17/92 in Polk County, Florida. This project proposes to connect SR 60 in Lake Wales to US 17/92 in Davenport with a new four lane tolled expressway. The Study is evaluating four corridors based on their ability to meet the project’s purpose and need and quantify their impacts on the social, cultural, natural, and physical resources.

Project Highlights
Addressing regional transportation connection and traffic congestion is a key component of this project.
Challenges and Solutions
• Project consists of a large study area with many constraints including natural, physical, cultural, and social constraints.
• The study area consists of many municipalities and coordination with each agency has been challenging, but holding agency workshops have been beneficial.
• Avoiding impacts to existing and planned development is a challenge. The project team continues to refine alignments to avoid impacts to resources to the greatest extent possible.
